Directive 2009/125/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENTS

Important Note:   Regulation (EU) 2017/1369 updating energy labelling requirements and repealing Directive 2010/30/EU. From January 2019 models need to be entered into the European product data base. Models placed on the market from August 2017 need to be entered into this data base until June 2019.

For implementation of the Directive 2009/125/EC for small household products and for consumer electronic products following regulations are released/mandatory for CE-marking:

Regulation Scope Description
1275/2008
+801/2013
Standby and off mode power consumption of household and office equipment, intended for use in domestic environment. Power consumption in off/standby mode, providing only a reactivation function, max. 0.5 W and in any condition providing only information or status display max. 1.0 W allowed. For networked or HiNA* equipment, higher limits (12 W … 2 W) apply. In addition a suitable power management is required, that switches the equipment after the shortest possible period of time automatically into standby or off mode. The power management function shall be activated before delivery.

1062/2010
Standby mode, off mode and active mode power consumption for television. Power consumption in off/standby mode with/without display is limited to max. 0.01 / 0.30W / 0.50 W / 1.00 W. For networked or HiNA* equipment, higher limits (12 W … 2 W) apply. The power consumption in active mode is limited and peak luminance ratio of min. 65 % as well as an "automatic power down" function which switches the TV from active mode into standby mode after four hours without interaction of the user is required.
Note: We offer also energy label testing for TV’s.
107/2009 Standby mode, off mode and active mode power consumption for Simple Set Top Boxes (SSTB). Power consumption in off/standby mode without display is limited to max. 0.50 W and with display it is limited to max. 1.00 W. In active mode, the power consumption is limited to max. 5.00 W (in case of HD signal decoding + 1.00 W, for hard disk + 6.00 W and for second tuner + 1.00 W).
The SSTB shall provide an "automatic power down" function which switches the SSTB from active mode into standby mode after three hours without interaction of the user.
278/2009 External power supplies for the supply of electrical / electronic household and office equipment as well as consumer equipment. The no-load power consumption shall not exceed 0.30W/0.50W and for average active efficiency, limits apply.

*HiNA = Networked equipment with high network availability (router, network switch, wireless network access point, hub, modem, VoIP telephone, video phone).
Remark: A LED (only) is not considered to provide information or to be a display.

PKM offers power consumption testing and the preparation of the conformity documentation as required according to the above mentioned regulations.
