History of PKM electronic GmbH

PKM electronic GmbH was founded in 1978 in Munich, Germany, as an engineering, consultancy and approval company mainly covering EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and Electrical Safety (LVD – Low Voltage Directive).

In addition since 1991 PKM electronic GmbH has been a FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and since 2006 an IC (Industry Canada) listed laboratory .

Increasing know-how and continuous improvements allowed PKM electronic GmbH also to offer modification service to manufacturers / importers, to meet the EMC and Electrical Safety requirements.

Experience combined with professional knowledge and a moderate price policy were the keys to become one of the leading private test houses in Europe. For EMC and Radio products we can offer assistance to the manufacturers and importers in getting the necessary type-approval for their products and also maintaining a high quality level during the whole production process.

The active participation in the National German Standard Committee as well as in International Committees made it possible to follow up all relevant standards and regulations in Germany, in the European Union and worldwide at a very advanced stage.

The European concept was followed up from the beginning and finally led to the accreditation of PKM electronic GmbH in the field of EMC, Electrical Safety (LVD) and RES (RF-operated Radio Equipment and Systems).

Being designated by KBA (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt) we are able to perform the necessary EMC tests for CE-marking as well as E1 tests and procedures for car products.

On 28th July 2011, Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (STC), a testing, inspection and certification organization in Hong Kong, China, announced the acquisition of PKM electronic GmbH.

Since February 2014, PKM electronic GmbH is recognised by the German "Bundesnetzagentur" (Federal Network Agency) and the European Commission to carry out the conformitiy assessment tasks as a Notified Body for the EMC- and R&TTE-Directives.
